I didn't meet [-S-F-] while scrolling through the spam of the recruitment channel. I didn't find them using the Corporation page. They didn't send me a message first, and I didn't bump into one of their members.
I met them, across a table, in Iceland, with CCP Hellmar to my left, and the wonderful bastard that is the [-S-F-] CEO to my right, separated by some expensive cloth, some dam good food, and about two bottles of cider (which the Icelandic don't do as well as we Brits). This was the charity dinner of the 2013 Fanfest.
After taking my seat at the table, and fulfilling the need to order yet another drink, a conversation across the table had ensued. From gun control in America, to Icelandic food, hinting CCP Hellmar for PLEX (multiple times I might add), and of course EVE, the conversation went on. It was in the midst of these wonderful conversations that the highly intelligent Argus Sorn struck my interest, and wanting to converse more with him, we came to enjoy speaking to one another. The same had also occurred with MatthewMN over a few cigarettes.
It was only as the night was closing, did they elect to inform me of their Corporation - and swiftly, I was surrounded by identical business cards. I had toyed with the idea of joining the Corporation, but I wasn't sure if I was going to.
It was on another night, that I had met MatthewMN again, doing what all us healthy men do - smoking. After a number of cigarettes and quite a lot of drink, we decided to go, with some ladies we had met, to a few clubs.I really can't describe how awesome both MatthewNM and Kaemka were....And Kaemka has blue hair. He has blue hair.
The night went on, great times were had, truly.
After managing to barely get home, I slept, of course. In the next few days I managed to give my thanks to both Matthew and Argus for just being awesome guys - like truly awesome people, and as soon as I got to a computer I signed up, to join [-S-F-]
Why? Did I know they were an awesome Corp? No. Did I know they didn't actually suck? No. I didn't even know they held Sov. I didn't even know what alliance they were part of.
I really didn't know much when I joined. I joined for the simple reason being thus - you really don't meet people like this. Ever.
I pride myself in keeping good company, and my friends to me, who I've known for years, are like my brothers. I know a good person when I see one. I can genuinely say that you don't often meet people like these people. That's why I joined.
On top of that, the Corp is actually god damn awesome. We are badass! Fully epic. We have fun first and foremost. Our stats come second. But when we check our stats - they really are awesome.
So do yourself a favour. Join our channel. Go on our website. Climb a mountain and place a flag down for [-S-F-]
Do whatever you want - just at least talk to us, see what we are about. As a Junior Recruiter, I don't want more members, I want to get more amazing people in our Corp to be badass with, and have shennaigans with.
